The Support Club is a term-based tutoring membership for primary school students who need consistent learning support, home practice and a clear plan with strong parent and teacher communication built in.

Support Club isn’t a one-off tutoring session. It’s a structured weekly membership designed to help students make real progress across the term with practice, planning and parent support included.
Here's what we usually get asked
Not at all. Support Club is for children who need extra support of any kind. Whether that’s catching up, consolidating skills, extending learning, building confidence or simply feeling more capable and secure in their learning.
Support Club provides personalised, face-to-face learning support in very small groups (maximum 6) or 1:1 sessions. This allows us to truly understand how each child learns and tailor sessions accordingly, something that’s difficult in larger classrooms or one-size-fits-all online programs.
No. Sessions are calm, encouraging and designed to support children at their own level. Progress is celebrated quietly and positively. Many children feel relieved to be in an environment where they feel understood and supported.
Yes! We align support with what your child is learning at school, while also strengthening foundational skills where needed. The goal is to support classroom learning and reduce stress, not replace school.
Yes. Confidence is a core focus of Support Club. When learning is broken into achievable steps and children experience success regularly, they begin to trust themselves again, which often improves both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
Groups are kept small (maximum 6 children) so sessions stay calm, personalised and relationship-based.
Support Club is designed for consistency. Membership includes a minimum of one 45-minute session per week, plus two short IXL practice sessions at home (5–10 minutes each).
Yes! We use IXL as a simple, structured home practice tool. Children complete two short sessions per week (5–10 minutes). It’s designed to build skills without overwhelming them.
Yes, once per term (with parent consent). This helps us align support with what’s happening at school and ensures we’re focusing on what matters most.
Yes. Parent communication is a big part of Support Club. Membership includes unlimited parent emails and calls, plus a term progress update and goal review once per term.

HeadStart’s Founder, Ali Carter, is a qualified and experienced primary school teacher who has taught across private schools on the Coast and in Brisbane, working closely with students and families to support learning, confidence and long-term academic progress.
Through her classroom experience, Ali developed a deep understanding of both the academic expectations placed on students and the pressures families can feel when a child is struggling, overwhelmed or not reaching their potential. She knows that many capable children simply need consistent, structured support, and a nurturing environment, to truly thrive.
Ali’s teaching approach is calm, personalised and relationship-based. She takes the time to understand each child’s strengths, challenges and preferred learning style, tailoring support so students feel capable, secure and motivated.
HeadStart only hires qualified teachers, each with many years of classroom experience. Our team is carefully selected not just for expertise, but for their nurturing, encouraging approach to teaching. We believe children make the greatest progress when they feel safe, understood and genuinely supported.
Today, The Support Club provides structured, term-based tutoring designed to align with classroom learning while strengthening foundational skills.
